Charlotte Alexander

ADVANCE Professor, Scheller College of Business 

Charlotte S. Alexander is the Esther R. and Edward J. Brown Chair, ADVANCE Professor, and Professor of Law and Ethics at the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business, where she founded and directs the Law, Data & Design Lab. She has an additional appointment in Georgia Tech's Carter School of Public Policy. Her scholarship focuses on how data and AI can improve the efficiency, transparency, and fairness of the courts. She has additional research interests in AI law and ethics and employment law and litigation.

Alexander’s work has appeared in a wide variety of peer reviewed and law journals, including Science, the Journal of Empirical Legal Studies, the N.Y.U. Law Review, Texas Law Review, Vanderbilt Law Review, and Northwestern Law Review. She has received research funding from the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Labor, Google, and other private foundations. In 2023, she worked as a Fulbright U.S. Scholar with the Justice Innovation Lab of the National Judicial Training College in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on projects involving court congestion and access to justice. In 2026, she was the Daniel and Florence Guggenheim Foundation Scholar-in-Residence at the Law Library of Congress. She is currently working on a book on court delay.

At Georgia Tech, Alexander was a member of the inaugural cohort of the Research Leadership Academy and leads a Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) team. She is also a faculty guide in the Stamps Presidential Scholars program and the faculty advisor for Jackets for Justice, a student organization for students interested in the law and law school.
