Week-Long Writing Intensives

Weeks of June 24 (virtual) and July 22 (in-person)

OFPD is excited to offer two one-week writing intensives this summer. Join other faculty writers for a solid week of dedicated writing time. We will meet daily, Monday-Friday, from 9-3. To start each morning, we will set writing goals, check in with each other at lunch, then check in again at the end of the day to set goals for the next day. One-on-one coaching with a trained writing coach will be available all week. In-person attendees in July will convene in a quiet on-campus space, with food and beverages, power, and available writing coaching and support. Registration for the virtual June retreat is unlimited, but the in-person July retreat is limited to 12 faculty members.

Mastermind Accountability Groups

A Mastermind group is a small group of likeminded professionals who commit to helping each other to achieve goals through constructive feedback, discussion, and accountability. OFPD’s virtual summer Mastermind groups will meet twice a month from late May through early August and be loosely facilitated by OFPD Director and certified coach Rebecca Pope-Ruark, PhD. Each 60-minute meeting will include an opportunity to share successes, discuss roadblocks or concerns, and set goals for the next two-three week period. Participants must be able to attend at least five of the six scheduled meetings to ensure group consistency.

Stepping Up Group for Mid-Career Women Faculty

Join a group of mid-career women faculty peers to explore some of the thought patterns that slow women down and develop strategies for stepping up your career to serve your most meaningful goals. Borrowing from Tara Mohr’s Playing Big coaching approach, in this small group coaching experience, we will explore the following topics as we examine our approaches to work and career:

Week 1: Calling Out the Inner Critic, and Inviting in the Inner Mentor
Week 2: Detaching from Praise, Blame, and Good-Student Habits
Week 3: Understanding and Answering Your Callings
Week 4: Taking That Next Leap

Each session will explore the week’s topic through content, reflection, and discussion. The group will meet twice a month in June and July for 90 minutes each. The group will meet virtually via Teams from 11-12:30 on the following Thursdays: June 4, June 18, July 2, and July 16. You must be able to attend all four meetings to participate to ensure group consistency. The group will be capped at 8 participants.
