Two Professional Development Certificates for 2024-2025

The Office of Faculty Professional Development is offering two new professional development certificate programs for all full-time academic and research faculty. The certificates - Leadership Exploration and Career Well-Being - include virtual workshops throughout the academic year. 

Coming Spring 2025

New program for tenured mid-career faculty members in Spring 2025

The Office of Faculty Professional Development will be offering Crafting the Next, a 12-week program designed around Appreciative Inquiry. Cohort members will build on their current strengths and successes and explore ways to thrive at mid-career and in the future. Using a faculty learning community model and the Appreciative Inquiry framework, participants will explore their interests, values, and goals, and create an actionable individual strategic plan while developing skills for career growth and resilience.

Coaching and Consultations

The Office of Faculty Professional Development Programs and Services (OFPD) offers one-on-one coaching and consultations to faculty across campus. 

In consultations, we identify your needs and work with you to provide resources, guidance, and coaching to support your professional development.

Crafting the Next Mid-Career Development Program for Tenured Faculty

Crafting the Next is a mid-career professional development program for mid-career tenured faculty members. In this 12-week intensive coaching program, members of the cohort build on their current strengths and successes and explore ways to thrive at mid-career and in the future. Using a faculty learning community model and the Appreciative Inquiry framework, participants will explore their interests, values, and goals, and create an actionable individual strategic plan while developing skills for career growth and leadership.

APL Mentoring Network

The Georgia Tech APL Mentoring Network for Academic Professionals and Lecturers is a volunteer-led program is designed to meet the professional development needs particular to Academic Professionals and Lecturers at Georgia Tech, brought to you by the vice provosts of Undergraduate Education and Faculty and the Office of Faculty Professional Development.

Faculty Writing Scholars Program

Looking to give some focused time and attention to your writing in the coming academic year? Would you benefit from some additional work on your writing process or pipeline? Interested in working with other faculty who care about successful writing? OFPD facilitates the Faculty Writing Scholars program, providing faculty opportunities to develop their writing skills with a cohort of cross-Institute colleagues interested professional development over the course of an academic year.

Leadership Development Programs

Interested in developing your leadership skills? Georgia Tech offers a number of leadership development and service opportunities for both academic and research faculty. These programs are sponsored by the Offices of the President, Provost, Vice President for Research, and Vice President for Administration and Finance, as well as the ACC.
