New Faculty Orientation
Sponsored by the Offices of the Vice Provost for Faculty and Faculty Professional Development, New Faculty Orientation for all new permanent academic faculty will take place on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 9am to 4:30pm. Breakfast will be available before the event.

Service is a necessary part of academic work and an opportunity to directly impact the Institute or your discipline. Learn how to strategically select service opportunities and to connect your service work to your most meaningful goals.
Writing an Effective Annual Self-Evaluation – 60 min TBA
The end of the calendar year is an opportunity to review your progress and to share that work with your supervisor in your annual review narrative. In this workshop, we will review strategies for writing an effective annual review that showcases your achievements and sets goals for the coming year.

Center for Teaching and Learning Workshops
Each August, the Center for Teaching and Learning hosts a Fall Teaching Kickoff event. This year's event includes the syllabus clinic, a keynote on teaching with AI and breakout sessions on teaching with Canvas, small teaching, and addressing common teaching challenges.
