Sponsored by the Offices of the Vice Provost for Faculty and Faculty Professional Development, New Faculty Orientation for all new permanent academic faculty will take place on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 9am to 4:30pm. Breakfast will be available before the event, and lunch will be served.

Additional Events and Opportunities

Center for Teaching and Learning Workshops

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) will host a Fall Teaching Kickoff event on Monday, August 11. This year's event includes sessions on GT courses policies and the syllabus template, supporting Student Success and Wellbeing, and breakout sessions on teaching large courses, active learning, and more. You can join us for the entire day or just the sessions that fit your schedule.

CTL will also host a Canvas Click-Off event on Wednesday, August 13, 10am-3pm in Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons (CULC) 102. Topics include getting started with Canvas, using the Canvas course template, setting up your gradebook, and more. You can join us for the entire day or just the sessions that fit your schedule.
