Faculty Dual Appointment Agreements
Completion of a Dual Appointment Agreement is required prior to an employee beginning work at two or more University System of Georgia (USG) institutions. The employee is responsible for beginning the process by completing section A of the appropriate USG Dual Appointment Agreement form, acquiring preliminary permission from his/her supervisor at his/her home institution, and submitting the form to the requesting institution's Dual Appointment Coordinator.
There are different types of dual appointments as outlined in the USG HRAP manual:
- Full-Time Equivalent Dual Appointment
- Travel-only reimbursement
- Borrowed Services
- More than Full-Time Equivalent Dual Appointment:
- Part-Time and/or Temporary Employees
Steps for Approval Processing
The process for faculty Dual Appointment Agreements can be found here. In addition to the USG Dual Appointment Agreement form, departments will need to complete the Georgia Tech Dual Appointment Agreement Coversheet with the supervisor's signature.
When the USG Dual Appointment form and GT coversheet are ready for the Provost's or EVPR's signature, the human resources representative will submit the request via GT-TRACS with orgs 609 (Faculty Affairs) and 600 (Provost) or 120 (EVPR) offices as approvers. Faculty Affairs will notify Georgia Tech's Dual Appointment Coordinator when the form is ready for review before approving the form and routing for final approval.
Notification
Once the Provost or EVPR signs off on the form, Faculty Affairs will notify Georgia Tech's dual appointment coordinator, who will notify the employee and appropriate parties.
